Welcome! Whether you're a longtime member of the Texas Folklore Society, a new friend, or if you're just checking us out, we welcome you! Take our new website for a spin!

In April 2020, our membership elected to move our home office to a new host institution, Tarleton State University. In Stephenville, the university has arranged for us to have a beautiful suite of offices, plus we will have a place to host events in Granbury, a bustling town for tourism, with restaurants, arts, festivals, and outdoor activities. While our belongings have moved, we haven't finished unpacking, so bear with us. As soon as we are ready for company, we'll let you know. Like everyone, we are anxious to be able to resume "normal" life and events of the Society.

While we are waiting for the pandemic to subside, we are working on our annual publication and we are expanding outreach through our website. With this new site, we can develop and share curriculum, host webinars and workshops, have fun events online, and share some special items in our "members-only" area. Not a member? Click "join" above and change all that!

Finally, but equally important, we NEED your help. If you are a member and have not already done so, please pay your 2020 dues. Your dues are an important source of operating revenue for the Society. You may pay online by clicking the "My Membership" button above. You'll have to first retrieve your username, and then get a new password, but once there, you can pay with a credit card and even set it up for automatic renewal, if you'd like. If you prefer to mail a check, you may send it to PO Box 1251, Granbury, TX 76048. Not sure what to do? Contact us and we will help you.

We look forward to the day when we can all be together again, and we can celebrate the new home of the Texas Folklore Society. Until then, stay safe!

All the best,

Lori Najvar, President, and Frances B. Vick, Secretary-Editor
