The Plataforma Jiménez of Melvin, Texas: A Texas Folklore Legend
In 2025, the Plataforma Jiménez was granted Texas’s first Legends and Lore marker. The marker will be dedicated at the Plataforma Jiménez building in Melvin on November 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

Texas Folklore Society has issued a call for papers for it's 106th Annual Meeting, set for April 17–19, 2025, in Fort Worth. Proposals are due October 16.
