| At the annual meeting, members read papers, play music,
give demonstrations, and display items on a variety of folklore
subjects. (For a glimpse at titles of papers presented at
meetings over the years, see the List of Meeting
Papers.)
The Vice-President/Program Chair plans the program for the next
year's meeting, and accepts proposals from members.
To be considered, a paper should meet the following criteria:
-
It must be on a folklore-related topic (e.g.,
customs, beliefs, traditions, skills, music, art, legends,
superstitions) You can see a list of the
papers presented at meetings for an idea of the type of
paper we are looking for.
-
It must be presented orally at the meeting in a 15-20
minute presentation.
-
Audio-visuals (PowerPoint, videos on DVD,
demonstrations, artifacts) may be used. TFS provides a laptop and
projector.
-
A manuscript of the presentation must be submitted to
the Program Director who will select the papers to be presented at
the meeting.
Send paper ideas for the 2012 meeting in Odessa (April 5-7,
